New Look, New Range

Like many people, I've been sheltering at home here in Virginia and looking around the house for new projects to start on! Never being someone who is good at starting what I finish (I blame my Gemini tendencies lol), this, of course, means I now don't have a single area of living space that doesn't have paint, tools, various other DIY implements or sulking cats in it. (Secret: the kitties are not too impressed with my DIY.)

Fortunately, my workspace is still relatively untouched so when the DIY "fun" gets too much I have an escape. I've been meaning to give the website an overhaul because I knew it needed an update but I wasn't really sure how I wanted it to look or what direction I wanted to go in. The trouble is, when it comes to buying fragrance and essential oils, I don't know when to stop! I'm like the proverbial kid in a candy store and end up with loads of different fragrances and a ton of different soaps. It all smells amazing, but there's no real consistency. Hence the "ground up" overhaul.

Firstly, I need to be strict with myself and try limit my product range as much as I can instead of applying the scatter-gun approach and making a few of each thing I see on YouTube or another artisan's website. It ain't gonna work! So, taking a deep breath I came up with a standard range of products that will always be available in my online store or at craft fairs.

Drum roll please..... The final product range is:

  • Cold Process Soap

  • Glycerin Soap

  • Bath Bombs / Shower Tabs

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • Perfume Body Oil

  • Sugar Scrub

  • Body Butter

So now I have my product range but what about the fragrances? Here's where it get's exciting! I've been lucky enough to find a fragrance oil called.... wait for it... Daisy Chain!! What's more, I even love the smell so it must be fate, right? I'd be crazy not to make that my new signature fragrance - so I did, and it's right up there with 4 more tried and tested favorites:

  • Daisy Chain

  • French Lavender

  • Oatmeal, Milk & Honey

  • Tangerine Dream

  • Peppermint & Lemongrass

And there you have it; my new product range in 5 standard fragrances. I can't wait to share them with you all but right now the soap is still curing and not ready to hit the online shelves yet. Keep checking out my Facebook page though because I'll be sending updates as the new items are uploaded to Etsy.

One of things I need to work on next is to add a couple more fragrances that may be more appealing to men - I'm thinking something more like a fresh ocean or woodsy type, or maybe one of those trendy new scents like tonka bean and oud. I'm open to suggestions, so go ahead and drop your ideas in the comments.

In the meantime, I've been working to create a more cohesive look across all my different media platforms, By now you've probably seen the new look website, the Etsy store has been recently updated and next on the list is the Facebook page... so far, I've only managed to update the logo and that's about it. Here's a little sneak peak of the new look mobile website:

Hello

So what do you think? I'd love to hear from you with your thoughts on the new range of products and scents. Do you think it's too much, not enough or about right?

In the meantime, stay safe and well during these unsettling times.
